郑州大学研究生院主办、材料科学与工程学院联合承办的2019年研究生国际暑期学校——材料科学与工程分校于2019年7月15日至21日在郑州大学主校区材料馆材料科学与工程学院学术报告厅(207室)举行。

In order to improve the degree of internationalization of graduate curriculum system, accelerate the international process of graduate education, enhance the innovation consciousness and ability of graduates, and cultivate high-quality talents with international vision, the 2019 Graduate International Summer School-Materials Science and Engineering Branch School, which is sponsored by Zhengzhou University Graduate School and jointly organized by School of Materials Science and Engineering, will be held in the Academic Report Hall (Room 207) of Material hall in the main campus of Zhengzhou University from July 15th to 21st.

郑州大学2019年研究生国际暑期学校——材料科学与工程分校将聘请美国阿克伦大学庞毅教授等知名学者为研究生开设以高分子为主题的专题讲座和学术前沿报告(全英)。通过全英文专题讲座和学术报告,实现优质教学资源共享,为研究生搭建夯实专业基础、提高研究水平、培养创新能力的国际交流平台,同时使材料学相关学科研究生能够不出国门了解更多材料科学前沿信息,享受到优质的国际化教育资源,对于拓宽研究生的国际化视野,提升研究生的科研水平有重大的意义。

2019 Graduate International Summer School of Zhengzhou University - Materials Science and Engineering Branch School will employ renowned scholars such as Prof. Pang Yi from the University of Akron to provide special lectures and academic frontier reports about the polymers for graduates (in English). Through special lectures and academic reports in English, we will realize the sharing of high-quality teaching resources, and build an international exchange platform for graduates to lay a solid foundation of professionalism, improve research level, and cultivate innovative abilities. At the same time, graduates majoring in materials can learn more about the frontier information of materials science and enjoy high-quality international education resources without going abroad, which is of great significance to broaden the international vision and improve the scientific research level of graduates.

本次暑期学校具体安排如下:

The specific arrangements for the summer school are as follows:

一、招生对象及要求:

Ⅰ. Prospective Students and Requirements

外校相关专业在校研究生、本院研究生、本校相关专业在校研究生以及青年教师;准备第一志愿报考我院硕士研究生的全日制本科三年级在校生(材料科学与工程专业学生,其中一本高校的学生专业排名在年级前20%,二本高校的学生专业排名在年级前10%。);因全程采用英语授课,要求学员英语功底好,原则上要求本科生英语通过CET4以上,研究生英语通过CET6以上,且具有英语听课的适应能力。

Related majors of other university, graduates of our school, graduates of the relevant majors from our school and young teachers; full-time undergraduate of year 3 prepared to apply for our school for the first volunteer (students of material science and engineering, whose ranking are top 20% and 10% in the grade from key university and ordinary university, respectively.); Because the courses will all be taught in English, the students are required to be good at English. In principle, the undergraduates and graduates are required to pass CET4 and CET6 respectively, and have the ability to adapt to English classes.

二、招生计划:

本次暑期学校,计划招收学生50-100人,其中本科生20-30名,研究生30-70名。

The summer school plans to enroll 50-100 students, including 20-30 undergraduates and 30-70 graduates.

三、教学安排:

Ⅲ. Teaching Arrangements

1.2019年7月15日上午学生报到,7月15日下午举行开学典礼,7月21日毕业典礼。

The students register on the morning of July 15, 2019, the opening ceremony will be held on the afternoon of July 15 and commencement for completion will be on July 21.

2.邀请3名国内外著名高校和研究机构专家为学员授课:

Three experts from famous universities and research institutes abroad are invited to teach the students:

(1)庞毅教授:现任教于美国阿克隆大学化学系。

主要研究方向:有机化学,新型共轭聚合物的设计、合成及其在化学、生物学、材料科学中的应用。

Prof. Pang Yi: Department of Chemistry, Akron University, USA.

Main research directions: organic and polymer chemistry, design and synthesis of novel conjugated macromolecules and their applications in chemistry, biology and materials science.

授课内容:

Course contents:

(a)How to succeed in studying overseas.  Personal experience and advice.

(b)Introduction of Organic Chemistry: From basic concepts to material chemistry.

(c)Organic luminescent materials and their applications: Some recent development and challenging problems. The topic attempts to cover a variety of general applications.  

(d)Seeking environment-sensitive fluorescent flavonoids for target binding-activated applications.  The topic introduces a general class of flavonoid compounds,which are responsible for the variety colors of fruits. The discussion illustrates the principle how these class of dye molecules can be used selective detection of macromolecules, such as proteins.

(2)赵磊研究员:现工作于美国贝克休斯公司,项目经理,首席科学家,高级研究员。主要研究方向:高温复合材料,有机无机纳米复合材料,高分子薄膜材料的设计和应用。

Dr. Zhao Lei: Project manager, chief scientist and senior researcher of Baker Hughes, USA.

Main research directions: high temperature composite materials, organic and inorganic nanocomposites, design and application of polymer film materials.

Design, preparation and application of organic/inorganic nano-hybrid materials

(3)Kunio Kimura教授: 现任教于日本冈山大学环境生命科学研究科,担任日本纤维学会会长、冈山大学国际事务副校长职务。

Prof. Kunio Kimura: President of the Society of Fiber Science and Technology, Japan. Vice President of International Affairs, Okayama University Graduate School of Environmental and Life Science, Okayama University

授课内容:

Course contents:

(a) Development of novel up-grade polymer recycling system

(b) New methodology for precision polycondensation

(c) Morphology control of high performance polymers

3.主讲教授与学员座谈、交流;组织参观学科实验室及与学科相关老师进行座谈。

The lecturer and the participants discuss and communicate with each other; participants have a visit to the subject laboratory and a discussion with the relevant teachers of the subject.

(3)录取:郑州大学材料科学与工程学院将聘请相关领域专家,根据申请人提供的材料对其进行综合评价,并作为主要录取依据。录取结果拟于7月3日前在郑州大学材料科学与工程学院主页上公布。入选学生需在7月5日前确认是否参加,逾期未确认视为放弃此资格。

Admission: The School of Materials Science and Engineering of Zhengzhou University will hire experts from relevant fields to conduct a comprehensive evaluation based on the materials provided by the applicant, which will serve as the main admission basis. The admission results are scheduled to be published on the homepage of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Zhengzhou University before July 3. Candidates must confirm whether to participate before July 5th. If overdue, they will be deemed to have waived this qualification.

五、考核与结业:

V. Assessment and Completion

根据本次暑期班的授课内容,采用随堂问题讨论、课后撰写结业论文等方式对学员进行考核。考核合格后将由郑州大学研究生院统一发放郑州大学国际暑期学校结业证书,本校研究生并获得2-3个学分,冲抵相关选修课学分。

According to the content of the summer class, the students will be assessed by discussion of the problem and the completion of the thesis. After passing the examination, Zhengzhou University Graduate School will issue the Zhengzhou University International Summer School Certificate of Completion. Besides, graduates of our university will receive 2-3 credits and offset the relevant elective credits.

六、学员待遇:

VI. Students Treatment:

(1)保证学员享有良好的生活和交流环境;

Ensure that students enjoy a good living and communication environment;

(2)每人每天50元生活补助,外地学生报销往返路费(以火车硬座标准计算)50 yuan living allowance per person per day, unlocal students will be reimburse round-trip tolls (calculated by train standard);

(3)费用:免费学习,住宿费自理。

Expense: Free study, accommodation costs.

七、注意事项:

1.学生报到时需携带身份证、学生证。

Students must bring their ID card and student ID card when registering.

2.暑期学校举办期间,要求学生全程遵守暑期学校相关规定。

During the summer school, students are required to follow the summer school regulations.

3.学员须具有健康的身体和良好的心理素质,如发生医疗费用及个人行为导致的意外事故由个人承担。

Participants must have a healthy body and good psychological quality. If an accident caused by personal behavior occurs, the individual will bear the medical expenses.

4.学生请自带笔记本电脑进行自习和互联网检索。

Students are required to bring their own laptops for self-study and Internet search.
