由郑州大学研究生院主办、信息工程学院承办的2019年研究生国际暑期学校—"国际人工智能前沿进展”分校于2019年7月22日至7月28日在郑州大学新校区信息工程学院学术报告厅举行。邀请到美国马里兰大学帕克分校Dinesh Manocha教授、澳门大学C. L. Philip Chen教授等国内外知名专家学者为计算机相关学科研究生授课，讲述国际人工智能前沿进展，为研究生搭建夯实专业基础、提高研究水平、培养创新能力的国际交流平台。

In order to improve the internationalized graduate programs, encourage innovative thinking of the graduate students, and train high-quality personnel with global vision, the School of Graduate Studies of Zhengzhou University (ZZU) is proudly announcing the 2019 ZZU International Graduate Summer School Series! The Information Engineering Branch, jointly sponsored by the School of Graduate Studies and the School of Information Engineering (SIE) of ZZU, will be held between July 22th to July 28th, 2019, at the SIE academic lecture hall. The Advance of International Artificial Intelligence will be offered in this year’s SIE Summer School. The invited instructors are Professor Dinesh Manocha Computer Science and Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Maryland at College Park, Professor C. L. Philip Chen from Lecture Professor of University of Macau, and so on. By bringing the high-quality academic resources from both China and abroad to Zhengzhou University, we hope to build a platform for international academic exchange, which will help the students and audiences to boost their understanding of the fundamentals, and improve their research skills and sense of innovation.

一、 招生对象及要求

I. Prospective Students and Requirements

本次暑期学校，计划招收学生100人。包括本校计算机学科相关领域（计算机、信息、电子电气类等方向为主）硕士研究生、博士研究生、留学生研究生和教师，兄弟院校相关专业在校研究生和教师。考虑课程内容深度因素，原则上不招收本科生，特别优秀的本科高年级学生可联系暑期学校负责教师，视具体情况决定是否被录取。因课程采用英语/双语授课，要求学员英语功底好，原则上要求学员英语通过CET-6，且具有英语听课的适应能力。

The 2019 SIE Summer School plans to enroll 100 students. Prospective students/audiences of the SIE Summer School include master and PhD students (domestic and international) and faculty members in computer science related disciplines (computer science, information processing, electronic electricity etc.). Considering the depth of the material covered, in general we do not accept applications of undergraduate students. Very excellent fourth year undergraduate students may contact the summer school coordinator to see if special arrangements can be made. Because the courses are taught in English/Bilingual, the students are required to be fluent in English. In principle, the students are required to have passed the CET-6 exam and have the ability to communicate in English.

Registration will be open on July 22, 2019. The opening ceremony will be on July 23th. The closing ceremony will be on July 28th.

Prof. Dinesh Manocha, PhD

Dinesh Manocha教授，马里兰大学帕克分校计算机科学与电气与计算机工程学院主任，曾是北卡罗莱纳大学教堂山分校的计算机科学系杰出教授。ACM/AAAS/AAAI/IEEE Fellow。

Dinesh Manocha is currently the director of Computer Science and Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Maryland at College Park. Earlier he was the Distinguished Professor of Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a Fellow of ACM, AAAS, AAAI, and IEEE, and received Distinguished Alumni Award from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

Prof. C. L. Philip Chen, PhD

陈俊龙（ C. L. Philip Chen）教授，中国自动化学会副理事长，国家千人学者、国家特聘专家，澳门科协副会长，澳门大学讲座教授，科技学院前院长。陈教授是欧洲科学院院士、IEEE/ AAAS / IAPR / /CAA/ HKIE/IASCYS Fellow。现任 IEEE系统人机及智能学会的 SCI 期刊主编（IEEE Trans. on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics: Systems），曾任该学会国际总主席 (2012-2013)。陈教授获IEEE学会颁发的4次杰出贡献奖。陈教授主要科研在智能系统与控制，计算智能，混合智能，无人系统、数据科学方向。

Professor C. L. Philip Chen, Vice President of China Automation Society, National Thousand Scholars, National Special expert, Vice President of Macao Association of Science and Technology, Lecture Professor of University of Macau, former Dean of School of Science and Technology. Professor Chen is an academician of the European Academy of Sciences, IEEE/ AAAS / IAPR / CAA/ HKIE/IASCYS Fellow. (IEEE Trans., editor-in-chief of the SCI Journal of the IEEE system Man-Machine and Intelligence Society. On Systems, Man, and Cybernetics: Systems), served as International President of the Institute (2012 / 2013). Professor Chen was awarded four Outstanding contribution Awards by the IEEE Institute. Professor Chen focuses on intelligent systems and control, computational intelligence, hybrid intelligence, unmanned systems, and data science.

3．录取与报道(Admissions)

郑州大学信息工程学院将根据申请人提供的材料对其进行综合评价，并以通知被录取学员。所有学员需在7月20日前确认是否参加，逾期未确认视为放弃此资格。

报到地点和时间： 郑州大学信息工程一楼办公室

                                  7月22日09:00-18:00

Evaluation of the applications will be conducted by the School of Information Engineering of Zhengzhou University based on the application materials. Admitted students will be notified before the course starts. All admitted students/audiences are required to confirm attendance before July 20th, 2019. Admission will be denied if confirmation is not received on time.

Check-in place: Office on the first floor of information engineering, Zhengzhou university.

Check-in time: July 22, 2019

四、考核与结业

IV. How to graduate

根据每次的讲课内容，由授课教师安排随堂或课后考核。考核形式可以是问题讨论、综述撰写等，以突出学生对于所学知识和技能的实际掌握和应用情况为宗旨，灵活进行，不设具体模式限制。所有学员经考核合格，顺利结业的学生可获暑期学校结业证书。

According to the content of each lecture, the teacher arranges the assessment with class or after class. The examination form can be problem discussion, summary writing, etc., in order to highlight the actual mastery and application of the knowledge and skills learned by the students, the examination can be carried out flexibly, without specific mode restrictions. All students successfully completed the Summer School and passed the exam will receive a certificate.

五、食宿及交通

V. Accommodation and Transportation

对于省内其他院校具备保送研究生资格潜质的大三本科生提供食宿（学校或家庭所在地是郑州的学生原则上不安排住宿），资助交通费（火车硬座票或汽车票费用，学生须提供往返车票票据）。

Food and accommodation are only available for students who has the potential to guarantee graduate qualifications in other colleges and universities. We also subsidize transportation expenses for these students (train hard seat ticket or car ticket fee, students are required to provide round-trip ticket tickets).

六、注意事项

VI. Miscellanies

1．学员报到时需携带有效身份证件及学生证/工作证。

Students are required to present their IDs, student IDs, or faculty IDs on registration.

2．暑期学校举办期间，要求学生全程遵守暑期学校相关规定。

During the summer school, the students are required to follow the ZZU Summer School regulations.

3．学员须具有健康的身体和良好的心理素质，如发生医疗费用及个人行为导致的意外事故由个人承担。

The students/audiences should be physically and mentally healthy when attending the Summer School. Zhengzhou University is not liable for any medical expenses due to personal reasons or accidents.
