剧情：　　风靡万千少女心、英俊潇洒、风流倜傥，没错，这些可都是放在艾力克斯．佛莱契（休．格兰特）身上最贴切的形容词。不过，好时光一去不复返，身为80年代的流行歌手，如今的艾力克斯只能贴上一个标签--过气！除了偶尔在乡村音乐会和游乐园露露老脸，来点怀旧巡回演唱，他基本处于半隐退状态。但好歹咱们艾力克斯也是魅力十足且才华横溢的主，流行小天后、少女万人迷卡罗．柯曼便抛出了橄榄枝，不仅找他写歌，而且邀他一起对唱并录制唱片，这可是艾力克斯绝佳的重返歌坛的机会！可棘手的问题是，艾力克斯遇到创作瓶颈已经不是一天两天了，最近好几年他连半首曲子都没写全，加上压根就没填词经验，他该如何在短短几天之内端出一首大热金曲？

恰巧帮艾力克斯打理家中盆栽的苏菲费雪（德鲁．巴莉摩尔）是位古灵精怪的女子，对于文字拥有相当敏锐的天分，显然是和艾力克斯合作创作的不二人选。两人的邂逅很快擦出了爱情火花，但不久前才经历过了一段失败恋情的苏菲不不愿意再与陷入任何感情，更不用说是害怕承诺的艾力克斯了。面对经纪人的催稿，前男友抛弃的阴影，以及苏菲暗恋艾力克斯20年的姐姐伦达的虎视眈眈，这对感情逐渐加温的K歌情人，能不能真爱与音乐兼得呢？
