二、段落翻译 英中：
1）Joseph Epstein的Ambition中的一段 There is a strong view that holds that success is a myth, and ambition therefore a sham. Does this mean that success does not really exist? That achievement is at bottom empty? That the efforts of men and women are of no significance alongside the force of movements and events now not all success, obviously, is w orth esteeming, nor all ambition worth cultivating. Which are and which are not is something one soon enough learns o n one’s own. But even the most cynical secretly admit that success exists; that achievement counts for a great deal; an d that the true myth is that the actions of men and women are useless. To believe otherwise is to take on a point of view that is likely to be deranging. It is, in its implications, to remove all motives for competence, interest in attainment, and r e gard for posterity.
2）关于“幸福”和“快乐”的短文 Many intelligent people still equate happiness with fun. The truth is that fun and happines s have little or nothing in common. Fun is what we experience during an act. Happiness is what we experience after an act. It is a deeper, more abiding emotion. Going to an amusement park or ball game, watching a movie or television, are fun activities that help us relax, temporarily forget our problems and maybe even laugh. But they do not bring happiness, because their positive effects end when the fun ends. I have often thought that if Hollywood stars have a role to play, it i s to teach us that happiness has nothing to do with fun. These rich, beautiful individuals have constant access to glamor ous parties, fancy cars, expensive homes, everything that spells "happiness". But in memoir after memoir, celebrities r eveal the unhappiness hidden beneath all their fun: depression, alcoholism, drug addiction, broken marriages, troubled children, profound loneliness.

1）一篇中国政治式的文字，坚持中国特色社会主义道路、经济建设为中心等等 。。真心记不得那么多了，所以在网上也搜 不大出来= = 字数倒是很多，大家 按这个类型、定稍多的量做练习吧~
2）网上也没搜到。是关于中国的图腾——龙的。 大意是传说中黄帝就是一条龙，我们是炎黄子孙，黄帝的后代，自然也就是 龙 的传人了。历代封建统治者都自称为“龙体”“天子”。如今已经没有“龙体 ”“天子”了，但龙作为中华民族的象征，仍深深根植 在人们心里。中国各处 都能看到龙，最典型的就是故宫，有XX间宫殿及建筑和XX条各种形态的龙。在 中国每年庆祝的一个 节日里（没点出是端午节），人们挂龙灯、划龙舟、赞美 龙来庆贺节日。
